Ways to Get Involved

Volunteer Your Time

From our pantry and community garden to events and administrative tasks, there are many ways to volunteer in Iola Kansas with Humanity House. Every helping hand ensures that visitors feel welcomed, supported, and connected.

Donate Protein or Pantry Staples

Our food pantry provides vital food assistance in Allen County, Kansas, meeting urgent needs and preventing hunger. We especially need:

  • Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon

  • Peanut butter (small jars) and jelly

  • Ground beef or pork (fresh or frozen)

  • Spaghetti sauce

  • Bread

  • Flour

  • Sugar

  • Cooking oil

  • Fresh eggs

Drop off at Humanity House, or make a financial gift to help us purchase fresh, high-quality food. Every contribution helps keep shelves stocked.

Donate Clothing or Volunteer with SUCCEED

Gently used professional/work clothing helps neighbors prepare for interviews. Our SUCCEED program also offers free interview attire, résumé support, and job-readiness guidance.

Be a Community Role Model

You don’t need to be an expert to make an impact. If you’ve overcome challenges, built a career, managed a household, or simply have a heart for helping others, you can be a role model for someone finding their footing.

Role models:

  • Help individuals break challenges into manageable steps

  • Connect people to local resources like job training or housing

  • Offer encouragement without judgment

  • Provide a listening ear during tough moments

Together, We Can Make a Difference
